1. Build collection points

To avoid sick workers, you should not just let your workers loose on piles of raw materials, but build collection points within an efficient radius . This will keep the workers from getting sick .

2. Plan ahead

The good thing about Frostpunk is the pause button and you should use it regularly . There are always new tasks, unpredictable situations and shortages of raw materials that you have to react to as quickly as possible, but also as prudently as possible. So keep an eye on your supply of raw materials and optimize them if necessary, for example if you are researching something in the workshop that requires more raw materials.

3. Don’t accept all tasks

Understandably, the people who live in your town will always want something from you. But you don't have to say yes and amen to everything , because that can quickly mean you're kicked out and the end of the game. Keep an eye on your happiness and hope scale and decide whether you can refuse a task. Especially at the beginning, you can refuse one or two tasks , because you will still have a few opportunities to increase your hope and happiness .

4. Demolish old/empty buildings

Resources are very rare in Frostpunk, every piece of coal, steel, wood, etc. counts. That's why you should dismantle all buildings that can no longer be used (e.g. sawmill that no longer has any trees in the vicinity) or that are empty (e.g. shelters that are uninhabited after an epidemic). This will give you resources. The same applies to roads .

5. Always let Automatrons work

Automatrons are the great technological achievements in Frostpunk. In some scenarios they can be a bit high-maintenance, but as long as the generator is running they are reliable workers . And they have one big advantage over their human counterparts: they can work all the time - even at night . That's why they should always be used where there is a shortage of resources .

6. Increase satisfaction and hope

The game is particularly focused on the happiness and hope of the residents. You can increase both with certain laws (e.g. building a children's home) or by increasing tasks . You should also constantly satisfy their basic needs for food, warmth and health .

Special buildings and the associated unlocked laws also make the process easier. Hospitals can distribute additional rations by law. The second law book "Order and Discipline" or "Faith and Spirituality" can also be very useful. However, these options - e.g. prayer - should be used in extreme emergencies , because they take time before they can be used again.

7. More than a workshop

Workshops are very important for progressing in the game. They open up new options and buildings , but require a lot of resources to research. To be able to research faster, however, you need more than one workshop . More workshops speed up the process, but also require more engineers (5 per building).
