Unofficial The Witcher Cookbook Recipe: Tarte Tatin
Tarte Tatin is a traditional French apple pie. What's special about Tarte Tatin? The caramel layer that forms on the bottom of the pan when it's baked. So delicious. No wonder Geralt gets more energy after eating a Tarte Tatin. Tarte Tatin is great to prepare in an ovenproof pan.

- refrigerated shelf (approx. 280 g)
- 3 apples (e.g. Boskop)
- 80 g sugar plus 1 teaspoon sugar

- powdered sugar for dusting
1. Preheat the oven to 220 °C top/bottom heat (fan oven: 200 °C).

3. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the butter so that the two components combine nicely. Now spread the apple slices on top. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Unroll the puff pastry and gather it up and place it over the apples. Prick several times with a fork and sprinkle with the remaining sugar.
4. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes until golden brown. Then turn the tart out using a flat plate and leave to cool. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
