Sailor Moon Makeup - Is It Worth It?
"Moonstone, fly and conquer!" - One of the mottos of my childhood. I wouldn't say that Sailor Moon was the heroine of my childhood, but she certainly held an important place back then and that is still the case today.
That's why it wasn't far-fetched to buy something special when I was in Japan. Naive as I was, I thought it would be an easy undertaking, after all, Sailor Moon is one of the most famous manga and anime characters ever.
How wrong I was! It was super hard to find anything and then it was so extremely expensive that it almost threw me off my feet! That's why you will only find the limited selection of cosmetic products from Creer Beaute/Miracle Romance here.
An Odyssey through Japan
Let's start with how I got all this stuff. It took me two weeks to find everything. No joke! As I said, it wasn't easy to find anything. I went to countless drugstores and cosmetics shops and once even had to deal with mocking saleswomen who claimed they didn't know Sailor Moon ! (Original: Sērā Mūn . Voiced: Saila Müün)
Well, nonetheless, I found what I was looking for in a large toy store called Yamashiroya in Ueno Park in Tokyo . Suddenly there was a whole section with Sailor Moon items and almost everything a cosmetics heart could desire. Even though the products weren't exactly cheap, I couldn't hold back!
Sailor Moon MakeUp - The Products
Miracle Romance belongs to Creer Beaute and this in turn comes from Bandai , the toy manufacturer ( Bandai Namco since 2005) and produces the Sailor Moon cosmetic products.
I liked the lipstick the best. It has a beautiful peach color, is easy to apply and feels great. The lip balm is also very good. It doesn't provide much moisture, but it also feels good and has the prettiest design of all the products.
I have to be honest though and say that the eyeliners don't give off a lot of color. Eyeliners in brush form are generally a bit difficult and I've already found the perfect one with Kat von D's. Nevertheless, I gave the whole thing a chance. Unfortunately, the eyeliners will most likely only be kept as souvenirs, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
A great souvenir
It took a while to get hold of everything and maybe not everything is as useful as I first thought, but they are great products. I am happy every time I see them in the display cabinet or on my makeup table and I don't regret buying them one bit.
Although they are not cheap (around 20€ ), the products were a great souvenir or Christmas present. They were also the cheapest Sailor Moon- related items I could find.
