4 Gaming Shops In New York
During my last visit to New York, I made it my mission to check out a few shops for gamers. Surprisingly, there weren't that many if you ignore the Gamestop chain, but I still came across a few great shops.
Here are four gaming shops in New York!
Videogamesnewyork
The shop is located in New York's East Village and you can't miss it with the yellow tarpaulin. The interior reminded me of Japan! Narrow aisles and everything crammed to the brim. There are real treasures in glass display cases, so you can't just touch them! But that's not a problem, because the people who work there are super friendly and accommodating .
You can find almost anything in terms of games and consoles here, from new Nintendo Switch games to old Ataris in their original packaging. There are also Japanese imports and a few highlights with original signatures . The store also seems to be really inspiring! In the 15 minutes I was there, four visitors couldn't stop squealing with excitement (male squeals, of course!).
In addition to buying, you can of course also sell your games and consoles. A repair service with a free preliminary analysis is also available there. They also have an online shop .

8 Bit and Up Video Games
The next retro shop is just 500m away. Here too, the owner was really friendly and accommodating . If you have a question or concern, this is definitely the right place to go! In the shop I even found several ROBs that were built for the NES back then. I was told that the thing was total crap, but if you had one back then, you were the king of the school!
You can also buy and sell here, but you can also test the games in the shop. This is particularly useful if you don't want to buy a pig in a poke! If you have a special request , you can also call and ask if they have the item in stock. They ship worldwide! They also specialize in repairing arcades . There are a few lying around on site too!

J&L Game
A shop that you can't miss thanks to the giant Pikachu in front of the front door! It's located relatively centrally near Bryant Park and offers plenty of space to look around. Just like in the shops before it, the employees and shop owners are friendly and accommodating .
New games and consoles are offered here, as well as very old ones with packaging that is still in good condition . But fans of Japanese imports will especially find what they are looking for. I also saw a few things that I had only seen online until now. Speaking of online, they also have an online shop and ship their goods worldwide .

The chain is well known in Germany and there are also several branches in New York. Here you can find mainly used goods from new consoles and a lot of merchandise . They always have great offers , so you only have to pay $2.50 for a Star Wars T-shirt, for example.
