Gamescom 2018 - 3 Games Played + Announcement
Like last year, I was of course at Gamescom this year looking for new games. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play as many this time, but I'll introduce you to the three that I managed to play:
Fallout 76
Let's start with the title that I'm most looking forward to: Fallout 76 ! Unfortunately, we couldn't play the game because it was just a presentation. But it promised a lot and only made us want to play the game even more!
In addition to the already known trailer from E3, a few topics were addressed, such as the size of the map (4x the size of Fallout 4 ), use of nuclear weapons, skill options and base building. The latter is now possible thanks to a special device called CAMP . This allows the base to be built, weapons to be manufactured and other basic needs to be met. If you want to take down your tents and settle somewhere else, you simply have to take the CAMP with you again.
Griefing is always a tricky thing in PvP. Bethesda doesn't want players to pester other survivors and send them to the afterlife all the time. That's why there is a "special protection". If someone can't help it and kills another player, even though it's not a duel, the winner automatically becomes a murderer/wanted. A bounty is put on the person and you can no longer see other players on the map. Everyone else can, however.
I'm really looking forward to the title and since the focus is mainly on the rebuilding of West Virginia , I hope the building mode is better than the one in Fallout 4 !

Anno 1800
I have Anno 1800 installed on my computer, but I hadn't played it until two days ago. So strictly speaking, Anno 1800 is my first Anno . Anyone who knows me and my streams knows that I love construction and strategy games. That's why this was exactly my thing.
One innovation is the workforce. They are divided into different areas, such as workers and farmers. Citizens with higher ranks can no longer do this work. You can also customize the working conditions by sending your people home early or making them work overtime. Nothing new, but definitely worth mentioning is the beautiful graphics with all their details, which are a real feast for the eyes.
During Gamescom we were able to build up and manage our settlement a little. We were also able to send our ship on a small exploration mission. This time the part is set in the period of the industrial revolution. It promises modern gameplay without the futurism that was often criticized in the last two parts.

Transference
The last game is a VR title . Unfortunately, Transference wasn't really my genre and the VR made me feel sick. Nevertheless, the psychological thriller game is supposed to create an interesting connection between the game and the film.
The story revolves around a scientist and his family, whose history must be uncovered in a house. Somehow something seems to have gone wrong or broken and the player has to put the puzzle back together from a first-person perspective.
Funnily enough, I said before that there would definitely be no jump scares because all the players were able to stay in their seats. Wrong thought...

The Settlers - The Announcement
A title that was only announced during Gamescom, but was not seen - at least not in the public area: The Settlers . I've always liked the series and am even more pleased that there is finally a new part! According to previous information, old, "traditional" and new elements are to be combined in this game.
If the wait is too long for you, don't worry, The Settlers - History Collection will be available on November 15, 2018. The package includes all seven previous parts and the corresponding expansions. They have all been adapted for modern computer systems. What more could you want?
